"We purchase high-needed items in bulk and distribute quarterly (usually March, June, September and December) - $10 flat fee."
[E.g. for $50 EG, $40 goes toward gift items]
I understand that this is an automated process, and the sponsor will only receive a THANK YOU card with a list of items purchased (no letters or photos).
Q1. If CI purchasing these EG (<$99) in bulk, does the child receive items worth the donation amount, or every child on this EG route gets same type/quantity of items regardless the donation amount by his/her sponsor?
Q2. Will December distribution (items) be seasonal (i.e. Christmas), or CI Christmas Gifts are separate and funded by Christmas Fund?
Thanks for the input!
A1. The child receives gifts equivalent to the amount the sponsors gives. So the gifts will vary for the children.A2. The December Extra Gift distribution is separate from the Christmas Fund gift distribution.

In Zambia they explained it to us that they will set up bags/boxes at different price points and the family can go purchase one based on how much the sponsor sent, $50-$99. So, if you sent $50, your child could go find a ($40) bag and purchase that. The bags will have more items in them as they get more expensive. I'm not sure exactly what happens if you send say $55 (child receives $45), they buy a $40 bag and then have $5 left. Perhaps there are also small items available to purchase individually with a few leftover dollars. I sent Mathews one $50 gift once, and the card I received back he wrote thank you for the mealie meal and sweets. He may have mentioned another item or two that I've forgotten. It was a short card.
