Greeting cards

Just finished sending my Greeting cards to the children using online templates, so thought asking CT:

 

i) Are they printed on thicker/card paper compared to paper used in printing online letters?

 

ii) Will first image get printed on outer flaps and second image on inner flaps?

 

iii) What are the dimensions of the folded card?

    Hello, I use those templates almost all the time and I get only positive feed back from the children, so I guess they are quite good. I do notice that if you upload 1 foto instead of 2 or 3, you do get a bigger image.. so I generally only use 1 photo.

    And for your 2nd question, I always assumed that it was indeed like you describe, it seems logic to me..

    .. or could it be that the card is printed on a normal paper with both images, then double folded (horizontal > glued > vertical)?

    Greeting cards and online letters are printed on the same type of paper. They are printed on regular 8 ½ x11” copy paper, so when folded, it would be half that size. Using the example you gave from our online template, the snowman would be on the front, while your message and the photos you added are on the inside. Hope this helps!

    Thanks! To clarify.. if both images are printed onto 1 sheet of paper (i.e. second image below first image) as shown above, will it then get double folded to make the card size 4.25x5.5"? Do you glue the two halves together after first fold or just leave as it’s? I’m asking this to see if better send cards by post to CIKC.

    To save time and ensure the max amount of funds are used for the kids, all cards are folded in half, right down the middle and the printing and folding is automated - no extra gluing, folding, etc. or time spent on them.

    After the automated folding is complete, can you tell me the size of the final card when going out in the mail?

    The length is 8 1/2 and the width is 5 1/2

    Thank you, Rebekah! I can now figure out how the card is produced. Wish I knew this years ago. More than our letters, Greeting cards are received by children with delight and gratitude. I think a real card would make a big difference to them.

Highlight of my 2018:

MSC archived stories -  January 1, 2019 In accordance with Guatemalan tradition, Katerin took a year break from school – just before I met her to celebrate quinceañera (girl celebrating her 15th birthday). She is now one and a half years away from graduating from the CI program. She is full of hopes for the future and determined to do well in studies, even though there were some setbacks in her academic performance in the past, as revealed in Education Report (ER). The ER, however stated that  “we do not recommend the sponsor send extra contribution for Katerin’s education since the risk that she will not be responsible is high.”    I simply could not believe or accept this premise because I trusted her to do well when she came into my care in early 2017.
