Recently Estephanie received my collection of Scholastic books, including some of my favorite children’s author – Hans Wilhem along with useful stationery items to complement this gift.
So, having collaborative learning times with the help of her parents she was asked to write me her life in a day "IF YOU WERE A COIN" – imagine the coin can talk, how she will spend the day in people's pockets, exchange hands, travel places and help buying many things every day – something for her imaginative thinking!
I just received her parent's response..
"Regarding your question, if she were a coin she would like to go to many places and especially help others with a coin and obviously would buy stuffs."
And then I gave my spin on this..
Dear Estephanie,
The story about the little coin (me).. one day I was in Mr Nice's pocket when he left home in the morning to go to work. He had to let me go that morning in the safe hands of a bus driver when he bought his ticket to Glasgow. During 40min of bus ride there were many passengers boarded the bus and I exchanged hands again and went inside a wallet of another passenger, Mr Best who sat next to Mr Nice. Mr Nice heard that I was whispering at him and said "I love you". So eventually, the bus arrived in Glasgow and I disembarked with my new found friend, who was heading for Glasgow airport to catch a flight to Guatemala. I was very excited to fly for the first time, but first had to stop Mr Best handing me over to taxi driver to the airport. Luckily Mr Best had a taxi ride of 30min in the morning rush hour, so he had to pay by notes for our taxi, and I was relieved and off to Guatemala with him. I've never been in luxury travel in an aeroplane before, even Mr Best transferred me from his cramped wallet to a comfortable briefcase and when the plane ran so fast on the runway before took off I felt it and was afraid hidden inside the briefcase but close to Mr Best. 15hrs later I landed in La Aurora airport in Guatemala and there was someone very special, named Estephanie waiting to greet Mr Best at the airport. She gave a rose and a hug to Mr Best upon meeting. The fragrant smell of that rose came right through the briefcase Mr Best was carrying, so I waited patiently for him to open the damn thing!.. I was exhausted without fresh air to breathe and 20min after landing Mr Best opened me to this new world only to find that people talking in Spanish.. didn't have a clue, but my day of drama started in a small Scottish town of Cumbernauld almost over when I heard the city clock struck 12mn.
That's how my day went once I was a coin... wish you be inspired!
Lots of Love, Chelaka
Chelaka, I love your imagination and how you share with your children to help them see the world and think outside the box! Great story!

Thanks Liro! I thought she might just be able to tell her story to bring to this forum for you to give her a mark! She is already the top in her class and now has plenty of books to explore her imagination.
