The volunteer/social worker, Arpana from the Ahuja Family CC just updated me with the latest situation of Aashiya's family living in Delhi. (added to My Media)
My first impression was that to have CI staff working with the family to get through this pandemic has been great both financially and emotionally. This gave them some comfort in focusing children's future – the education.
Losing classroom contacts with their peers and teachers seem to have also given more appreciation for the teaching profession, as Aashiya is now more likely to pursue this career than her original aspiration of becoming a doctor.
The other aspect I saw in Arpana's account was that how deeply religious our Asian families are in celebrating their festivities whatever the challenges Covid imposed upon them. The family surely taking necessary precautions when engaging in such activities.
Then the food, of course where else you’d find culinary experts than in Asian subcontinent! Aashiya once told me that she enjoys having fish curry but she is scared of the thorns in the fish. Her parents make her eat.
As the world is emerging out of Covid lockdown, to me the family union has never been felt like this before. Being her first sponsor, I am so very pleased to hear that Aashiya still has got the security of sponsorship in adversity.
The quality of this volunteer written letter is most impressive! She, Aparna, represents the Ahuja Family Center in an exemplary way and sets a high bar for excellence in sharing information.

What makes me reassured is when you, Nancy praised her – an heir and a spare! Thank you

I always love your posts. So glad Aashiya is managing to thrive in these times and has help to do so. You are a great sponsor!
