MSC archived stories - September 24, 2022
One day in July this year I was quick to update the MSC community of the latest annual photo received from Aaron. He turned 14 that day. It's quite unusual this time because he was holding a rather worn-out soccer ball. I wrote him that night to convey my belated birthday wishes and to find out about this ball.
In a space of 2 months his response arrived from Guayaquil last week followed by EG report a few days later (saved to media). What struck me was that the family has given a lot of thoughts into making the donation worth significantly more by wanting to tailor his sports clothes. I am in awe to learn that they not only bought the stuff from the gift money but also wanted to place receipts of purchases next to each before taking the photos, transpiring trust and honesty empowered by my endeavour to gift him a brand new ball to play with friends.
Such emphasis had led my curious mind to start wondering about a machine, never seen before standing next to them. Thanks to Google Lens, I was able to carefully zoom-in to see what it will bring up with close matches. A sewing machine.. very similar type! The hidden machine revealed another part of their intension to show me that they actually do have what needs to make the clothing at home.
It was a special birthday gift to Aaron (albeit little late) made possible by me and his mum. No doubt next time I will see him in one of those homemade shirts
Chelaka this is wonderful! A sewing machine could mean a whole lifeline for this family, should they decide to go commercial with it. Good job!

Like forward thinking spark in you! I also felt this self-control and decision making is a great training to help us trusting each other to support after he graduates from CI.
