My random act of occasional glancing through the waiting list is a reminder of children who lost their sponsors or those who yet to find one for the very first time. Connecting to a child with your own self is a very special moment that only you can get to experience first-hand. If there was a ‘Wall Street’ with children waiting displayed in a row on the wall could have grabbed your attention instantly than the website or billboards when you walk along that street but what if you are fearing of losing that child by your "own wait" due to not being ready just yet to commit to a (new) sponsorship?
If it's really that hard to decide, tossing a coin may be the solution, not because what turns out to be heads or tails but purely discovering your true intent by the action of tossing.
So to put this to the test, my search was momentarily paused by special connection encountered this week with Luz from Mexico. She, her elder brother and mum are from Guadalajara where they live by very little earnings (at the start of the pandemic). They don't own their house but live in a place with walls and roof constructed of bricks as common in communities served by the Jacqueline Byer Dial Center where most families rent free in exchange for making bricks.
I literally could hear her non-verbal calling for help! Since that moment I let myself contemplating – sponsor or not to sponsor. The reaction to the outcome dictated by my coin tossing seen something deep in heart telling me what I really want..
As I share this story with you, Luz most likely doesn't know that her only sponsor before me whom she had for the past nine years has left very recently without knowing why. And then me already stepped into changing her guard, so I wonder will she embrace this new beginning or not.. over to you dhuwa, toss a coin!
Luz may have come to you as a gift of fortune, but; when you brought her into your sponsored family, you returned to her the gift of hope! My best wishes to you both!

She was on my watch list and I'm happy she will have an involved sponsor

Luz just got so very, very lucky! I’m glad you found her. May the friendship last for many years.

Beautiful and cute girl. I hope that you and Luz will get to know each other better through letters. I also started sponsoring a second child and I just had to sponsor Orianna, so I did and now I sponsor two beautiful girls from Colombia.

Thanks all for the well wishes. For me, Luz is my 24th CI sponsorship. But for her the sponsorship is much like hybrid. I don’t know how she will feel writing her 2nd welcome letter after so long time. Hopefully she will be positive and ready for the new beginning.
